Do you like swimming?

Yes, I love swimming! It’s my favorite way to clear my head and relax. It’s great for my health — it’s a full-body workout and helps me stay fit. I try to swim 2-3 times a week, and it always leaves me feeling amazing.

  • clear my head = to relax and stop thinking about worries or stress.
  • a full-body workout = an exercise that strengthens all parts of the body.
  • stay fit = to keep the body healthy and in good physical condition.

Is it difficult to learn how to swim?

Yeah, it can be at first. The breathing is the hardest part — you’ve got to figure out how to coordinate it with moving your hands and legs. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get it, it’s not so bad.

  • breathing = the act of taking air in and out of your lungs.
  • figure out = to understand or find the solution to something.
  • coordinate = to organize different parts or actions so they work together smoothly.

Why do many people like swimming?

I guess because it’s fun and super refreshing, especially when it’s hot. It’s also a great workout without being too hard on your body. Plus, it’s a great way to hang out with friends or family, and if you’re at the beach, it kind of feels like an adventure.

  • refreshing = making you feel cool, fresh, or full of energy again.
  • hang out with = to spend time relaxing or socializing with someone.

Where do people in your country like to go swimming?

Most people here prefer swimming pools because they’re safer and cleaner. The beaches here can be a bit polluted, so they’re not the best for swimming. Pools are just more convenient.

  • polluted = made dirty or unsafe by chemicals or waste.
  • convenient = easy to use or suitable for one’s needs; saving time or effort.

When was the last time you went swimming?

Last week! I’m lucky because we’ve got a pool at home, so it’s super convenient. I can swim anytime I want, and it’s a great way to unwind after a busy day.

  • unwind = to relax after being stressed or busy.

What’s the difference between swimming in the pool and swimming in the sea?

Oh, swimming in a pool is way more chill. The water’s calm, clean, and you don’t have to worry about waves or anything. The sea, though, is a whole different vibe — it’s salty, you’ve got waves, and sometimes even little fish swimming around you. It’s fun but a bit unpredictable, you know?

  • chill = calm, relaxed, and easy-going.
  • waves = moving ridges of water created by wind or currents in the sea.
  • unpredictable = changing in a way that is not expected or easy to guess.
